Today’s post is all about the colourful cottages in Deal, one of the cutest little towns in Kent. But before we discuss those houses, let’s first talk about Kent. It’s one of those counties that I’ve visited but not visited, does that make any sense at all?! What I mean by this is that I’ve been a fair few times to visit friends, for the odd day trip with school, to get the ferry across to France or to peruse the shops in Bluewater. But I’ve never spent much time there exploring any of the towns and countryside around and boy have I been missing out?!! At least if the area surrounding Deal is anything to go by, because that little corner of Kent is stunning.

There are large swathes of green fields, beautiful blossom everywhere you look, empty beaches and the cutest little houses you could ever hope to see. The colourful houses of Deal are so cute and come in all shapes and sizes. They really make this town something special.

Most of the stunning houses and buildings in these shots are crammed into the narrow streets running parallel to Deal’s beachfront. I really had no idea that the houses and little shops were so picturesque and loved that each corner or narrow street led you to another unexpectedly colourful or cute cottage. It was just glorious and it did not ever get old!
Tell me, which is your favourite picture? I think the top one is mine, the variations of blues is lovely!

Did you go to Deal castle? I have very fond memories of it.
Yep we did, it was so interesting and such an impressive sturdy castle. That may be next week’s post if you fancy a trip down memory lane!
Absolutely. I am looking forward to it. Deal was a place my now husband and I didn’t get to on our first visit to England – we had a big fight about it because I really wanted to go. He moved heaven and earth to get us there the next time we visited Britain – and I just loved him for it. p.s we live in Sydney, Australia.
Those houses are so charming! I could see wandering around those lanes for at least an hour 🙂
Aren’t they! I did spend many an hour wandering around making sure I hadn’t missed a more charming or colourful one!
The pink houses are by far my fav! I’ve never been to Kent, however, it’s actually where my dad is now for! My grandfather was a literary junkie and I guess famous writers are from there?
Yep there’s loads of history and famous authors from Kent and it’s such a picturesque county – you really must visit it!
Isn’t it amazing how darling little village homes can be? Well-captured and beautiful!
It really is amazing and sometimes I forget about them and focus on the big impressive estates and castles instead. But the smaller things are just as gorgeous, especially these cottages.
So pretty! My favorite pictures is the pink house with the X’s, so cool!
That house is pretty awesome, I think my favourite is the top one with all the different coloured blue shutters. Just so beautiful.
Oh my gosh, you’re right.. the colorful picturesque little houses, crammed in narrow streets are just adorable!!!
They really are. It’s just too cute for words!
I’m such a sucker for painted houses. They are so much fun!
