Getting Crafty: Spare Room Inspiration

We’ve been busy little bees over the last few weeks. We’ve been assembling furniture, painting walls, choosing new furniture, spray painting anything that stays still for long enough, drilling and rearranging, rearranging, rearranging. Pretty soon we’ll be ready to unveil the first room in the new house on the blog and we’re pretty excited! But before we unveil room one, we wanted to share some of our thoughts prior to starting – so you can see what we hoped to achieve…

The first room we tackled was the spare room, the logic behind this is that we were pretty certain it would be a quick job. Painting the walls, choosing a bed and adding the bits and bobs all seemed pretty easy compared to some of the other things that needed to be done. Plus having this room ready to go would mean one of us could move in there when our rooms were getting sorted as they definitely won’t be so simple!

Sprinkled through this post are some of the ideas we had for this room – thanks to Pinterest – as you can see it was all about white walls, bright pops of colours, picture walls and fun things. Oh and the wifi picture frame idea – genius plan!

We knew this room would have multiple purposes: a spare room, a reading nook, a sewing room, office and general storage area. Yeah, we didn’t want much! But with all these rooms and spaces needing to fit into one we still wanted it to be cohesive and bright and inviting. Easy, right?

Well proof will be in the final version of this room, which should be ready to go post holiday. We can’t wait to share!
