Life Rambles: Recent Favourites #3

There are lots of reasons to be smiley right now, if you ignore the fact that I’ve had a cold for the last week and that I can barely keep my eyes open, and so today I’m sharing some of these brilliant things!

First up, look at my lovely new bag! Yes it appears that my willpower has well and truly disappeared as I’m now the proud owner of a gorgeous brown bag from the land of Accessorize. Isn’t it a keeper? I’ve been drooling over this bag for ages and finally took the plunge yesterday when I popped out at lunch. What can I say a brown bag with multiple strap options and roomy pockets is a must-have in my book. So it’s about time I added this gorgeous thing to my wardrobe. Love. It.

Leon is now open just across from my office and it’s wonderful. I can now get their delicious porridge or gooey brownies whenever I want. Not to mention the chicken hot boxes. And I don’t have to feel any guilt. Whoopee!

Arrow and Flash are back and boy have I missed them. There’s something about watching these superhero shows that I adore and it helps that Stephen Amell as the Green Arrow is Gorgeous. Thank goodness for Autumn TV hey.

I used my new Kitchen Aid for the first time ever and it’s AMAZING. I don’t know how I ever coped before, it’s a speedy baking revelation. I used it to make my very first ever macarons and they were delicious, coincidence? I think not! I love everything about it, but most especially the colour. Boysenberry was definitely a good pick, it’s classic but fun and I know I won’t get bored of it. Just look at the pretty.

Have you seen Sufragettes yet? If not you need too as it’s brilliant. All the hype is certainly warranted. I saw it on Wednesday night at the Walton Everyman {side note, best cinema ever} and loved every moment of it. The acting is superb, the story well told and I was engrossed for the duration. Simply put I thought it was wonderful and the best film I’ve seen for a long long time. I’m fascinated by the suffragettes anyway, but having watched this film I’m reminded how awe-inspiring they are. I’m amazed at all they achieved and what they had to go through and suffer for us all.

Had I been alive in that era I hope that I’d have been a suffragette, but I fear I wouldn’t have been, which saddens me. But honestly, to watch a film about what they did, and a film that didn’t shy away from the horrible bits – the force feeding, the beatings, etc – makes me so grateful that these women fought for us. I don’t even want to imagine what our lives would be like now if they hadn’t.

And finally, we’ve found the perfect sofas and ordered them – yes it’s taken this long. But on the plus side the sofas we decided on delivered in a week (thank you M&S) and they’re glorious. Just the perfect colours and they’re so bouncy and comfortable. Whoop whoop!
