Life Rambles: Friday Favourites #10

Happy Friday chums! I hope it’s going to be a fabulous one for everyone. FYI we’ve only got 14 sleeps until Santa arrives! Talk about exciting and clearly a favourite thing this week! Now on to the rest of them…

Bookish treats. With a couple of long train journeys recently, I’ve been able to engross myself in a couple of good books. I’ve just finished Child 44 which I absolutely devoured. It’s been on my Kindle for a while – I think they were doing a special offer around the time the film came out – and I’ve finally gotten around to reading it. I was totally hooked from the start and now I’m hoping to see the film soon. Plus there are a couple of follow on books so I’m going to keep my eyes peeled for them – in fact they may even make it onto my Christmas list. Santa, if you’re reading this, yes please! My current read is The Girl on the Train. Even with all the hype I’m quite enjoying this. I’m only 50 pages in, but I’m quite hopeful that it will live up to expectation. I like how it’s written and the way you read from different characters perspectives so we will see how it goes. I’ll keep you posted.

Making Gingerbread. This is something I do every Christmas and I love it. Plugging in the Christmas music and dancing around the kitchen while baking, is there anything better? Plus it always make me feel so full of Christmas cheer – it must be the festive smell that fills the house.
Family plans in London. Tonight I have epic plans with the Evans clan in London, its cousins, sisters, brothers and parents all gathering together for some festive fun; think pub plans, trips to Winter Wonderland and looking at Christmas lights, all culminating in 12 people sitting down for what is bound to be a boisterous dinner.

Pupdates. You’ll know from Fi’s Favourites last week that the parental units have a new puppy, Luna. Which obviously means she’s mine too! She’s been with the family for about 10 days now and I got to meet her last weekend. As I’m not living with her, Becca, who is at home with her most days due to revision, has been sending Fi and I #pupdates each day. Not living at my parents house anymore means that these #pupdates are a wonderful way to see how she’s growing and settling into the family and it means I’m not pining too much for puppy time. What am I saying, of course I’m pining! The 24 hours I’ve spent with her has just not been enough AT ALL. Roll on Christmas when I can spend actual full uninterrupted days with her. By the way there are a lot more puppy photos over on instagram, just sayin’.
